If you need a lower fee, I have two options:
I do not accept insurance directly and am considered an out-of-network provider for insurance companies. Some insurance companies will provide coverage for out-of-network providers, usually at a 40-80% rate.
I can provide you with a superbill to be reimbursed by your insurance. Use Nirvana’s Benefit Calculator to determine your reimbursement rates.
Yes.
As for what a superbill is… A superbill is a detailed receipt you can submit to your insurance provider to seek reimbursement for out-of-network therapy services. It contains essential details about your therapy sessions such as dates, services received, diagnosis codes and associated costs.
You pay your therapist directly and are reimbursed by your insurance later. HMOs like Kaiser generally don’t offer reimbursement.
I suggest contacting your insurance provider to understand the specifics of your out-of-network benefits. This can help you make informed decisions about the financial aspects of therapy and manage expectations regarding out-of-pocket costs.
Some helpful questions you can ask them:

I offer in person sessions at my office in Berkeley and online therapy via HIPPA compliant Zoom platform.
Sessions are held weekly or every other week and are 50 minutes in length. I meet weekly with new clients. Some clients reach a point where they see improvement and would like to meet every other week and I am open to discussing this.
We can collaborate around if/when this might be beneficial for you. I don’t meet with new clients every other week because it’s essential to build a relationship for me to offer the most effective support.

I specialize in working with female-identified individuals who are struggling with anxiety, depression, and trauma. Through somatic therapy and parts work, I provide a safe and compassionate space for you to reconnect with your body and explore the different parts of yourself.
Trauma is stored in the body, and somatic therapy helps release these stored experiences, restoring sensation and full feeling to areas that may have been numb or shut down for years.
Parts work enables us to reconnect with parts of ourselves we may have run from or buried in order to survive. Together, we will deepen your understanding of yourself and get to the root of what’s keeping you stuck, enabling you to feel more fully alive and embody your most authentic self.
